Quality Inspector

POSITION SUMMARY:
Be responsible for approving the quality of raw and incoming materials and conducting final inspections, ensuring that no faults exist in either the materials or the manufacturing process. Maintain accurate records at all times to meet traceability and certification requirements, and take ownership of safeguarding quality standards across all stages of inspection and production.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure parts are inspected without unnecessary impact to production continuity, including examination of critical incoming materials or components on a routine basis and rejection of unsuitable items.

Manage inspection documentation and maintain records for all incoming parts in line with quality requirements.

Provide assistance to departments by measuring sample parts for investigations and completing reports where required.

Segregate suspect parts in the Quarantine location.

Measure new sample parts to confirm drawing requirements prior to production release, maintain records, and store samples in designated locations.

Dispose of non-conforming products and ensure segregation of suspect parts.

Perform inspections on finished products and maintain records to meet traceability and compliance requirements.

Participate fully and cooperate with all product, company, system, and compliance audits (internal and external).

Identify and implement improvements in assembly processes and the inspection function.

Monitor and report on issues discovered during inspection to support continuous improvement.

Undertake internal audits to confirm compliance with regulatory standards.

Test incoming parts, calibrate relevant measuring equipment, and keep records up to date.
- Ensure personal and collective compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries, requests, and complaints.
- Maintain clear and regular communication with internal customers to ensure mutual expectations are understood.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science.
- Proficiency in PC applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other relevant software packages.

Experience in interpreting engineering drawings and tolerances (desirable).
